Las Vegas Yard Cleanup Done Properly

Legacy Outdoor Living handles yard cleanup across Las Vegas and the surrounding valley, clearing debris, cutting back overgrowth, and leaving your property in condition you'll actually be proud of. We've been doing this work here for 24 years, under Nevada contractor licenses #0092251 and #0094033, which means we know the difference between a quick cleanup and one that actually sets your landscape up for the season ahead. If your yard has gotten away from you, call (702) 508-1226 and we'll sort it out.

A yard cleanup in the Las Vegas Valley is not the same job it is in other climates. Monsoon season runs July through September and deposits everything from palm fronds to debris-packed gravel across your property. Desert winds carry seed and detritus from neighboring lots. And many HOA communities throughout Henderson, Summerlin, and North Las Vegas have maintenance standards that require more than pulling a few weeds. What's included in a professional cleanup depends on the condition of the yard: debris removal, weed pulling, shrub and hedge trimming, edging, dead plant removal, and haul-away are all standard scope items. Tree trimming and full replanting are typically separate services. Cost varies widely by yard size, the density of overgrowth, and how much material needs hauling. Every job is different, contact Legacy Outdoor Living for an accurate estimate.

What a Professional Yard Cleanup Covers

These are the specific tasks we handle on a standard cleanup visit.

Debris and Leaf Removal

Palm fronds, dried cuttings, monsoon-deposited debris, and accumulated leaves cleared from all areas including along fences, under shrubs, and in rock beds.

Weed Pulling and Treatment

Manual removal of established weeds plus treatment of root zones where appropriate. Desert weeds like puncturevine and Russian thistle spread fast if left unchecked.

Shrub and Hedge Trimming

Desert shrubs including bougainvillea, oleander, and Texas ranger trimmed to shape. We don't shear everything into a ball, we cut for plant health and natural form.

Dead Plant Removal

Heat stress, freeze events, and overwatering all kill plants in this climate. We identify and remove dead material cleanly without disturbing surrounding root zones.

Edge Definition

Crisp edges between lawn, gravel, and hardscape surfaces make a yard look maintained even between visits. It's one of the first things neighbors and HOA inspectors notice.

Debris Haul-Away

Everything we cut and pull leaves with us. You don't manage the disposal. That's part of the service.

Residential front yard landscaping with a mature palm tree, retaining wall, and drought-resistant planting in a desert suburban setting.

Desert Conditions

Why Las Vegas Yards Deteriorate Faster Than You'd Expect

Phoenix and Tucson homeowners get it. Las Vegas homeowners often don't realize it until they're standing in a yard that looked fine in April and looks abandoned by October. The monsoon window is the primary culprit. Between July and September, storm cells push significant debris across properties in a matter of hours. Gravel displaces into planting beds. Decomposed organic matter buries drip emitters. Palm trees drop fronds that become a fire concern if they accumulate near structures. Winter brings a different problem: freeze events that kill marginally hardy plants outright, and the debris lingers until someone clears it. Unhealthy or dead plants also affect irrigation efficiency. A dead shrub on an active drip line is wasting water that your living plants need. If your drip irrigation system is struggling to keep plants alive, a yard cleanup that removes dead material and clears emitter access often resolves the problem before you need to touch the system itself. We see this pattern regularly in established neighborhoods across the valley.

Our Process

How We Approach a Cleanup

The process is deliberate. We start early, on the job by 6:30 AM Monday through Friday, which matters considerably when summer temperatures reach 110 degrees by midmorning.

  1. 01

    Assessment First

We walk the full property before we touch anything. Dead versus dormant, salvageable versus not, drainage concerns and irrigation access, all of that informs what we do and in what order.

  2. 02

    Clear and Cut

Debris removal before trimming, not after. Cutting into an unmaintained shrub without clearing the surrounding area first creates more work and risks damaging equipment. We sequence the work correctly.

  3. 03

    Final Inspection and Haul

Before we leave, we walk the property again. Everything we've cut and pulled gets loaded and taken with us. You don't come home to piles waiting by the gate.

When to Call for a One-Time Cleanup vs. Recurring Service

  1. 01

    One-Time Cleanup

Right for inherited neglect. A property you've recently purchased, a yard that fell behind during a long travel period, or pre-sale staging where you need the property to photograph well and show well. Overgrown yard cleanup is one of the highest-impact, fastest-return investments before a home hits the market.

  2. 02

    Seasonal Cleanup

Spring and fall cleanups address the two main transition points in the Las Vegas landscape calendar. Spring clears winter die-off and positions plants for the growing season. A post-monsoon fall cleanup removes the debris accumulation before cooler temperatures set in.

  3. 03

    Recurring Maintenance

HOA communities across Henderson, Summerlin, and Southern Highlands have enforcement cycles that won't wait for you to find time on a weekend. Recurring service through Legacy means compliance stays handled and you're never the house the inspector flags. We build landscape design and maintenance plans that keep properties in condition year-round.

Yard Cleanup Questions We Hear Often

What's included in a professional yard cleanup, and what's a separate service?
A standard cleanup covers debris removal, weed pulling, shrub and hedge trimming, dead plant removal, edge definition, and haul-away of all cut material. Tree removal (anything requiring a chainsaw above head height), full replanting, and hardscape repairs are priced separately. If we spot drainage issues during a cleanup, we'll flag them and can connect you to our yard drainage solutions service.
How often should Las Vegas yards be cleaned up?
Most properties benefit from at minimum a spring cleanup in March or April and a post-monsoon cleanup in October. HOA communities in Summerlin, Henderson, and Green Valley often require more frequent attention during the summer growth and debris season. Properties with mature palms or large canopy trees may need debris cleared after every significant wind event.
What's the difference between a yard cleanup and ongoing yard maintenance?
A cleanup is a reset, addressing accumulated neglect, seasonal debris, or overgrowth that's gotten ahead of the property. Maintenance is the ongoing work that prevents a cleanup from being necessary: regular trimming, weeding, and edging on a scheduled cycle. Many clients start with a cleanup and then move to a maintenance schedule. Both are services we offer.
Why does my Las Vegas yard get so overgrown and messy so fast?
Desert wind is relentless and carries seed from neighboring properties into your beds constantly. Monsoon season deposits debris in a matter of hours. And desert-climate plants like bougainvillea, oleander, and Texas ranger grow vigorously in the warm months. They can add a foot of growth between trimmings. Without consistent maintenance, the yard changes faster than most homeowners anticipate.
Can a yard cleanup improve my property's irrigation performance?
Often, yes. Dead plant material sitting over drip emitters blocks water distribution. Overgrown shrubs crowd emitter lines and increase moisture competition. After a thorough cleanup, it's worth having your sprinkler system inspected to verify coverage hasn't been compromised by the debris accumulation. We can assess both in a single visit.
Will yard cleanup help prepare my home for sale?
It's one of the highest-return pre-listing investments available. A clean, edged, and trimmed yard with defined plant beds photographs better, shows better, and signals to buyers that the property has been maintained. Buyers and their agents notice the exterior before they ever open the front door. We've prepared properties across the Las Vegas Valley for market with a single cleanup visit.
